Risk prevention and control measures for chemical enterprises in high temperature weather
Summer is generally accompanied by high temperatures and intense exposure to sunlight, which brings along adverse factors such as chemical evaporation, volume expansion of liquid materials, and reduced cooling efficiency. If not properly managed, it can easily lead to abnormal operating conditions, fires, or poisoning accidents that endanger production safety.
preventive measures
1. Strengthen inspections of cooling and temperature reduction systems such as circulating water and air cooling systems, adjust the working loads of circulating water pumps and air cooling systems in a timely manner, and strictly prohibit the overtemperature operation of rotating equipment bearings, motors, and reaction devices.
2. Closely monitor changes in external environmental temperature. For materials with poor fluidity at specific temperatures (such as resin products), strictly adhere to operating procedures during production to avoid significant temperature fluctuations that could trigger phase changes, resulting in blockages in pipeline equipment and causing overpressure in upstream and downstream devices.
3. In high-temperature environments during summer, the initial temperature of raw and auxiliary materials entering the reactor should be strictly controlled, and the heat exchange rate should be precisely managed to avoid overheating and loss of control, which could pose greater risks.
4. Summer is the peak season for chemical enterprises to conduct startup, shutdown, inspection, and maintenance. It is necessary to strictly implement the established plans and contingency plans, carry out proper work approval, strengthen work supervision, avoid exposing electrical wiring connectors, and strictly control open flames on site.
5. During the summer, the power grid experiences high load, which may lead to power restrictions and outages. Enterprises should ensure that their power supply configurations meet the requirements for different load levels, and comply with specifications by equipping with dual power supplies and uninterruptible power supplies.
6. High temperatures in summer will accelerate the evaporation of toxic and harmful gases from sewage pools, biochemical water pools, evaporation ponds, and other areas. During employee inspections and daily operations, personal protective measures should be strengthened. In case of emergencies, employees should handle them calmly and avoid causing greater harm by blindly attempting rescue.
