Rainstorm and Thunderstorm: Chemical Enterprise Operation Control In the face of sudden rainstorm weather, the focus is on preventing and controlling three major risks: waterlogging, material reaction to water, and electrical short circuit. Enterprises need to dredge the drainage system of the factory area in advance, prepare sufficient flood prevention materials, and promptly suspend operations involving water-sensitive materials. Strict control must be exercised over sewage overflow to prevent various secondary safety accidents.
In response to thunderstorm weather, it is crucial to focus on lightning protection and operational control. Conduct a comprehensive investigation and rectification of hidden dangers in lightning protection and grounding facilities, promptly halt outdoor hazardous operations such as work at heights and lifting, and ensure lightning protection for instruments and electrical equipment.
The chemical process is complex, with stringent conditions, and the production process involves a large number of equipment and facilities such as pumps and fans. Encountering a rainstorm or flood may lead to equipment downtime, reactions of materials with water, power outages, electrical leakage, and other unexpected abnormal conditions.
Preventive measures: 1. Strictly prohibit the open storage of hazardous chemicals, and ensure rainproof and foundation reinforcement measures for outdoor material stacking; 2. Before the rainy season arrives, conduct a comprehensive inspection of low-lying areas of production facilities, and properly cover and block doors, windows, holes, and weak links in buildings and factories to prevent rainwater infiltration.
3. Preventive measures such as sealing holes and reinforcing ceilings should be taken for chemical warehouses, and regular monitoring of material status should be conducted.
4. Clean up key areas such as open drains and reservoirs in the factory in advance to ensure smooth water flow and prevent rainwater from flowing back into production and storage areas, causing secondary hazards.
5. Rainstorms or floods can pose significant risks to electricity usage. It is essential to ensure that electrical facilities are properly protected from rain and covered. For critical areas such as distribution rooms and cabinet rooms, it is advisable to have emergency response tools like waterproof sandbags and drainage pumps on standby.
6. For important parts such as underground and semi-underground facilities, measures such as adding fences or reinforcing supports should be taken before a rainstorm to prevent rainwater from flooding in.
7. During rainstorms and floods, it is not advisable to carry out the receipt and dispatch of water-sensitive materials; for materials that are easily decomposable, prone to self-aggregation, and have a short shelf life, enterprises should pre-assess the changing situation of production load, plan production quotas in advance, and prepare emergency prevention plans.
